Prepare to make a lot of digital left turns as game devDMi Games recently announced a new NASCAR come 2016!
DMi Games is a subsidiary of HC2 holdings, acquiring exclusive license to NASCAR on January 1, 2015. The company has already begun receiving assets from former developer Eutechnyx, and a new game is currently in the works for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.
While DMi Games has now acquired ownership to NASCAR, they have agreed to allow the former developer to continue with their planned NASCAR ’15 season update for their NASCAR ’14 release from the previous year, which is available on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC.
NASCAR is perhaps the most well-known racing organization in the US, but it never really created a buzz in the gaming industry. Over the years, the official NASCAR license has been passed on from one company to another, with EA Sports having had the longest hold from the late 90s through the 2000s, before Activision took it for a few years, and finally Deep Silver helped Eutechnyx publish the game last year.
What do you think of DMi Games taking over NASCAR this time around?
