Just over a month ago, Tekken producer Katsuhiro Harada announced that an idol-themed character named Lucky Chloe would be introduced in Tekken 7. A lot of people complained about the new character, and Harada noted that instead, US players would get a Chuck Norris-type character with a gun.
Well, Harada is surely no stranger to sarcastic tweets. A lot of people actually thought he was serious because his tweets didn’t really indicate that it was merely a joke. Recently however, Harada finally admitted that it was all in jest, clarifying that every character will be in every version, including Lucky Chloe.
He says that, “Media will see only what they want to see. Then I said just counter sarcasm/joke. Anyway, we promise an experience equal for all players, communities. Haven’t changed since the first Tekken.”
So yeah guys, it seems that Chloe got lucky this time!
Tekken 7 will be released in Japan in March 2015 as an arcade game. It will be the first in the series to make use of the Unreal Engine 4 game engine. This also marks the 20th anniversary of the Tekken series.
